Women in national parliaments

UK ranks 65 out of 188 countries when it comes to the number of women in parliament, that is according to a report by the Inter-Parliamentary Union on the basis of information provided by National Parliaments by 1st August 2014.

The report which lists Rwanda as number one in the list, with women in 51 out of 80 seats (63.8%) in its Lower or single House; ranks United Kingdom at 65 with women in 147 seats out of 650 Lower or single House and the United States of America is joint 86 with 18.2% of women in her Lower or single House, according to the report.
